Weddings at Epiphany

The Church of the Epiphany can lend your special day the charm of an historic church building dating to 1844.  Its original stained glass windows from the 19th and 20th centuries fill the space with ethereal lighting.  Our church is open to hosting weddings for both members and non-members of the parish.  The Sanctuary can hold 450 to 500 people, including seating in the south balcony and the side transepts.

Our Beliefs and Practices
The Celebration and Blessing of a Marriage is worship in which God blesses the couple, as family, friends, and parishioners witness the joining together of two people in Holy Matrimony.  The couple enters into the covenant of marriage reverently and deliberately, and the congregation promises to uphold these two persons in their marriage.

Guidelines and Preparation
The norm in the Episcopal Church is that the couple is married in the church in which they worship.  However, couples may marry that are not members of Epiphany.  The rector meets with the couple four to six times to assist them in exploring such topics as family systems, effective communication, conflict resolution, shared faith, and planning the wedding.  For more information on this subject, please contact the rector, the Reverend Glenna Huber at ghuber@epiphanydc.org.

If you are interested in having your wedding at the Church of the Epiphany, would like to check on availability of a specific date, or have a question, please contact the parish administrator at parishadmin@epiphanydc.org or call 202-347-2635 ext. 403.

Please note that the use of COVID-19 face masks is now optional at Epiphany, although recommended.
