Versatile and critically-acclaimed organist Dr. Jinsun Cho has been praised by The ORGAN for her “distinguished interpretation”, “sensibility”, and “brilliant technique”. Dr. Cho’s experience spans performance, musical leadership and academic roles in Baltimore/Washington DC area, and her native South Korea. She has appeared in concerts throughout the United State, Europe, South America, and South Korea, performing at National Shrine and Spivey Hall in the USA, St. Bavokerk in the Netherlands, Sct. Hans Kirke in Denmark, St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Austria, Tyn church and St. Ignatius church in the Czech Republic, Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, Seoul Arts Center, and Young-San Art Hall in South Korea. 

She holds the Bachelor of Music Degree in Church Music and Organ from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. During her undergraduate program, she studied the North German organ school extensively with internationally-renowned organist Piet Kee and Ewald Kooiman in the Netherlands, also organ construction in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. After receiving the Master of Music degree with Lynn Taylor Hebden Prize in performance and Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, she completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, worked with Donald Sutherland (organ), Webb Wiggins (Harpsichord), and Joel Wizansky (piano).  

She has won prizes in many prestigious competitions, including the Arthur Poister Organ Competition and the San Marino Organ Competition. She has served as the Director of Music at Christ Lutheran Church in Bethesda, MD; the organist at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Annandale, VA; and the assistant director of the Capitol Hill Chorale in Washington, DC. She has also taught courses in sacred music and applied organ/piano at Yonsei University, Mokwon University in South Korea, and the Catholic University of America and Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Dr. Cho is currently the Director of Music at the Church of the Epiphany in Washington, DC.
