Columbarium

The Epiphany Columarium

The Columbarium at Epiphany offers a final resting place for parishioners and their family members, and a tranquil area to reflect and honor the memory of the deceased.

A Columbarium is a consecrated area of the church reserved for the inurnment of the cremated remains of the deceased. We have named this area of our chancel the Resurrection Chapel.  Each separate compartment within the Columbarium is called a niche.  Each niche is marked with a bronze plaque showing the name(s) of the deceased and years of birth and death.

Epiphany’s Columbarium niches occupy the east and west side walls of the Resurrection Chapel, behind the chancel’s metal gate structure, known as the rood screen.  It is a place of honor, near the altar and the Bishop’s chair.

Placement of ashes into the Columbarium can be done as part of a funeral service or separately.
