February 8- Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Concert

Sunday, February 8, 3:00 pm- Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic
We have mixed the old and familiar with the very new in this concert. We are in for a treat to hear the Trombonist Brian Bourne premiere Maryland composer Ross Wixon’s work for strings and trombone. Liszt’s well-known and popular work hardly requires an introduction, nor does Brahms’s Piano Concerto. Those of you who heard Thomas Pandolfi perform at our Lyceum Chamber concerts know that this will be a wonderful performance.  Don’t miss it! Purchase tickets online. If you heard about this concert from The Church of the Epiphany you can receive a 50% discount off ticket prices with code COE2.

  • Ross Wixon Sparkling Dialogue, for Trombone and Strings (world premiere) with trombonist Brian Bourne
  • Franz Liszt Les Préludes, S.97 (Symphonic Poem No.3)
  • Johannes Brahms Piano Concerto No. 1, op. 15, in D minor with pianist Thomas Pandolfi
